Purpose of Program Review
Program review is a regular, evidence-based process colleges use to evaluate and improve
academic programs and student services. Required by accreditation standards, it ensures
quality, effectiveness, and continuous improvement.​
Through program review, departments analyze data, reflect on outcomes, and align goals with the college’s mission and planning efforts. This process demonstrates a commitment to student success and institutional excellence.​ ​The purpose of program review is to systematically assess and improve academic programs. Key objectives of program review include:
- Evaluating Effectiveness: Assessing the quality of faculty, curriculum, and resources.
- Identifying Adjustments: Recognizing necessary changes to enhance program quality.
- Setting Future Goals: Developing specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound goals.
- Engaging in Reflection: Collecting and reviewing data to inform improvements and ensure alignment with institutional goals.
- Alignment to Institutional Priorities: Align program review goals with the Student Equity Plan, the Educational Strategic Plan and ACCJC Standards​.

| ASAP | Resource Guide | Departments will receive an emailed resource guide with Data Dashboard instructions, program review packet, and best practice guide. |

Checkpoint: Midpoint Work Session |
Hands-on session to refine drafts, Review progress on initial data analysis and narrative drafts, align with accreditation standards, and address emerging questions. Q&A session |
| Jan 23 | Final Prep Session | Post-break Q&A and final feedback before Feb 2 submission deadline. |
| Feb 27 | Program Review Deadline | Program Review Due |
