  • One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OB3)

     

    IMPORTANT NOTICE:
    The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OB3) law includes significant changes to federal student loans, borrowing limits, and repayment options. Many of these provisions require additional federal regulations before they can be fully implemented. The U.S. Department of Education is currently completing that process through negotiating rule-making. Most OB3 financial aid changes are scheduled to take effect on July 1, 2026 unless otherwise noted

  • 2026-2027 FAFSA and CADAA Updates

    2026-2027 FAFSA and CADAA is NOW OPEN!

    Both the and will be available starting October 1, 2025. If you plan to attend college in the Summer 2026, Fall 2026, or Spring 2027 semesters, you can begin applying for the 2026-2027 academic year in October 2025.

    • Which financial aid application should I complete?
      • Complete the if you are:
        • U.S. Citizen or eligible non-citizen
      • Complete the if you:
        • Do not have a social security number
        • Have TPS status
        • Have U-Visa
    • What are the some of the changes to the FAFSA? 

      Summary of FAFSA Changes:

      • Students can add up to 20 colleges.
      • The number of questions on the FAFSA has been reduced.
      • EFC is being replaced with SAI (students can now have a negative SAI).
      • Student contributors without an SSN can now create a , known as an FSA ID.
      • All students and contributors, whether they file a US tax return, must provide (check a box ) that grants the IRS permission to transfer any data they have directly into the FAFSA form
      • Family size will be based on the number of tax exemptions claimed on the tax form(s) transferred into the FAFSA. If the family size has changed since filing the 2022 tax forms, a family size question will allow for reporting the updated family size.
      • The formula used to determine Pell Grant eligibility has changed, resulting in more students qualifying for the .

    • How To Submit The FAFSA Form If Your Contributor Doesn't Have An SSN

      Update:  The Department of Education has announced that the technical issues preventing contributors without a Social Security Number from starting or accessing the FAFSA, have been resolved.

      The is now open for applicants with contributors who do not have a social security number and are unable to submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The recently made this option available to allow students to meet the May 2, 2024, state and institutional financial aid priority deadlines.

      Students and their non-SSN contributors who choose the CADAA option, should continue to pursue the account creation and identity verification process to successfully complete the 2024-25 FAFSA and maximize their financial aid opportunities. The CADAA does not provide access to federal student aid.

      The 杏吧传媒 Financial Aid Office will begin processing 2026-2027 financial aid applications by Summer 2026.

      • For 杏吧传媒 to receive your financial aid application, students must:
        • List 杏吧传媒 (school code 010340) as a school of attendance on their FAFSA/CADAA
        • Have an 杏吧传媒 Student ID#
        • Have a SSN on file with the college (FAFSA applicants)

        • Students will be notified of the status of their financial aid by Summer 2025. If you have not heard from the 杏吧传媒 financial aid office by June 2025, email us at financialaid@losmedanos.edu or by phone at 925-473-7525.
        • View your financial aid status by logging into and selecting the Financial Aid Tile.
    • What is the deadline to apply?

      The California state priority deadline is March 2 (every year).  To maximize your financial aid package, students should apply by the state deadline.  Students MAY still apply after March 2 and receive financial aid, such as the Pell Grant, California Promise Grant, and the Free Tuition Program. Deadline to submit 2026-2027 financial aid applications is June 30, 2027.

  • Student Account Charges

    Financial aid funds (excluding EOPS and some scholarships) will be applied toward your current student account charges. Remaining financial aid balances after your charges have been paid, if any, will be refunded to you based on your BankMobile disbursement preference. To review your student account charges/payments, log onto InSite, click the Payment tile, then Account Activity.

  • Student Loan Repayment

    Student loan interest will resume starting on September 1, 2023, and payments will be due starting in October.  The U.S. Department of Education and your loan servicer(s) will communicate with your regularly before and after your payments resume to keep you informed and provide support.

      You might be contacted by a company saying they will help you get loan discharge, forgiveness, cancellation, or debt relief for a fee. You never have to pay for help with your federal student aid. Make sure you work only with the U.S. Department of Education and their loan servicers, and never reveal your personal information or account password to anyone. 

      The U.S. Department of Education emails to borrowers come from noreply@studentaid.gov, noreply@debtrelief.studentaid.gov, or ed.gov@public.govdelivery.com. You can report scam attempts to the Federal Trade Commission by calling 1-877-382-4357 or by visiting reportfraud.ftc.gov.

    The Affordable Connectivity Program seeks to ensure all eligible households have access to high-quality home internet at a low monthly cost.

    As a Pell Grant recipient, you can save on high-speed Internet with the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). This federally funded program allows Pell recipients to save $30 per month on home internet and a $100 one-time discount for a computer or tablet.

    Constitution Day commemorates the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution by thirty-nine brave men on September 17, 1787, recognizing all who are born in the U.S. or by naturalization, have become citizens.

    All institutions receiving federal funding, including funding through the U.S. Department of Education, are required to hold an educational program pertaining to the United States Constitution on September 17 of each year (or in the preceding or following week if the date falls on a Saturday, Sunday or holiday).
