MUSTANGS RALLY TO OPEN REGIONALS WITH 7-4 WIN
SAN BRUNO, Calif. 鈥� May 1, 2026 Down four runs in the opening round of the NorCal Regional, the 杏吧传媒 baseball team refused to fold. The Mustangs erupted for five unanswered runs over the final three innings to defeat West Valley College 7-4 at Trojan Diamond, opening postseason play on the road with an emphatic statement win.
Los Medanos, now 27-13 overall and 14-7 in conference, overcame a slow start to climb back into the game and ultimately control it late. The Mustangs fell behind early as West Valley jumped out to a 4-1 lead through three innings. The Vikings struck first in the bottom of the first when Parker Kristall scored on an unearned run via David Estrada's fielder's choice. Andrew Bonfigli then launched a solo home run in the second to push the lead to 2-0. West Valley added two more in the third on Estrada's RBI double and a Bobby Hill RBI single, putting 杏吧传媒 in an early four-run hole.
Los Medanos answered in the top of the third when Brendan Lister's RBI single plated Zach Madrigal to cut the deficit to 2-1, but the Mustangs needed more. The comeback began quietly. In the sixth, Antonio Moriera crossed the plate on a wild pitch, unearned, but it mattered, trimming the deficit to 4-2 and injecting life into the 杏吧传媒 dugout.
Then came the seventh inning, and Carlos Garcia. The right fielder crushed a two-run home run to score Nate Liddicoat ahead of him, instantly tying the game at 4-4. Garcia finished the afternoon 1-for-5 with two RBI, providing the biggest swing of the ballgame.
With the game knotted heading into the eighth, the Mustangs seized control for good. Zach Madrigal led off with a two-bagger to drive in Moriera and give 杏吧传媒 its first lead of the day at 5-4. Liddicoat then delivered the knockout blow with a clutch two-RBI single, scoring both Luke Hillsheim and Madrigal to push the advantage to 7-4. Liddicoat finished 2-for-4 with two RBI and a stolen base, doing damage all afternoon at the plate and on the bases.
Starter Blaine Welte earned the win, improving to 9-3 on the season. He navigated 5.1 innings, surrendering four runs 鈥� only three earned 鈥� on six hits while striking out five. Welte worked around seven walks and the early deficit to keep 杏吧传媒 in the game long enough for the offense to rally.
Kyoungseo Min then slammed the door in relief, delivering 3.2 innings of absolutely dominant baseball. Min retired the Vikings in order through the final frames, allowing zero hits, zero runs, and striking out one in what was a textbook closing performance. The outing earned Min his first save of the season.

Congratulations 杏吧传媒 Baseball - In the Post-Season Again!
That postseason run begins this Friday, May 1st, at 11 am, when the Mustangs face the #2 seed West Valley College in the opening round of a three-team tournament that also includes the #1 seed Skyline College. As the third seed, Los Medanos will need to bring their best baseball, but this is a group that has shown all year it can compete. With a deep lineup, a hungry roster, and plenty of freshmen who will return next year, the Mustangs have every reason to believe they can make some noise before the season is done.
杏吧传媒 Baseball: 2026 Season Review
The 杏吧传媒 baseball program turned in a productive 2025-26 campaign, showcasing one of the more dangerous offensive lineups in the California Community College Athletic Association. Across 39 games played, the Mustangs demonstrated consistent hitting, a knack for putting runners on base, and a willingness to run, all hallmarks of a well-coached, high-energy program.
Offense: The Clear Strength
The offense was the engine of this team. Los Medanos posted a .335 team batting average
(8th overall in the CCCAA), an on-base percentage of .438 (also 8th), and a slugging
percentage of .469 (14th). Those numbers reflect a lineup that not only made consistent
contact but also did damage when it did. The team scored 394 runs on the season and
collected 475 hits, including 83 doubles, 14 triples, and 26 home runs, adding up
to 123 extra-base hits and 664 total bases (15th in the state).
Perhaps most impressive was the team's plate discipline. Los Medanos drew 190 walks
and added 83 hit-by-pitches, contributing to that elite on-base percentage. The Mustangs
also ran aggressively, swiping 98 bases, 5th-best in the entire state, a testament
to the athleticism and baserunning IQ up and down the roster. In conference play specifically,
the offense ranked in the top 10 in runs, hits, triples, home runs, and RBIs, finishing
10th in both runs (235) and RBIs (214).
Individual Standouts
The lineup was deep, but several players stood out as particularly impactful contributors.
Carlos Garcia was one of the most complete hitters on the roster. The sophomore right
fielder hit .370 with a .555 slugging percentage, drove in 44 runs, and led the team
with 20 extra-base hits, including a team-high 16 doubles. His combination of contact
and power made him one of the most dangerous bats in the conference.
Sophomore catcher Chris Olsen was another offensive force, slashing .373/.468/.500
with 37 RBIs and 19 walks. His on-base percentage ranked among the best on the team
and his presence behind the plate gave the pitching staff a reliable anchor.
Freshman first baseman Brendan Lister made an immediate impact, posting a .350 average
with a .608 slugging percentage, 9 home runs, and 42 RBIs 鈥� all team-leading figures.
He was one of the most productive freshmen in the program and will be a name to watch
going forward.
Leadoff man Nate Liddicoat was the ideal table-setter. The freshman center fielder
hit .403 with a .474 on-base percentage, scoring 60 runs across 38 games. His ability
to get on base consistently set the tone for the rest of the lineup.
Sophomore shortstop Zach Madrigal brought elite plate discipline to go with his .337
average, drawing 17 walks and posting a remarkable .512 on-base percentage. His ability
to work counts and find ways on base made him a constant presence and a difficult
out.
Sophomore third baseman Antonio Moriera provided steady production throughout, batting
.339 with 35 RBIs and a .492 slugging percentage. Luke Hillsheim at second base was
equally reliable, hitting .352 with solid gap power and consistent at-bats all season
long. Freshman outfielder Geonoh Song contributed a .340 average and a .585 slugging
percentage in limited action, showing flashes of what he could develop into.
Looking Ahead
The 2025-26 Mustangs were a fun, productive team to watch. The offensive infrastructure,
including elite OBP, top-five baserunning, and solid power, gives the program a strong
foundation. Finishing second in the Bay Valley Conference and earning a postseason
berth validated what this roster was capable of all season long.

Best Finish in Program History
First Ever Playoff Victory
The 2025-26 season will go down in 杏吧传媒 women鈥檚 basketball history as one of the most remarkable campaigns the program has ever seen. Under the leadership of Head Coach Mario Pharr, and assistant coaches Vic Duenes & Murkice Carter, the Lady Mustangs finished with a 21-9 overall record and 10-4 in Bay Valley Conference play, tying a program record for conference finish and earning their first-ever playoff victory.
Women's Basketball Season Concludes at Folsom Lake
The record-breaking season for the 杏吧传媒 women鈥檚 basketball team came to a close on February 28 as the Mustangs fell to Folsom Lake, 63鈥�42, in the NorCal Regional round of the playoffs at Folsom Lake College.
Folsom Lake jumped out quickly, holding the Mustangs to just two points in the first quarter and building an 18-2 advantage. The Falcons extended their lead to 31-8 at halftime, forcing 杏吧传媒 to battle from behind the rest of the night.
Los Medanos showed renewed energy coming out of the locker room, scoring 22 points in the third quarter, their most productive period of the game. However, the early deficit proved too much to overcome as Folsom Lake maintained control down the stretch.
Eve Monzon led Los Medanos offensively with 15 points, knocking down two three-pointers and going 5-of-8 from the free throw line. Lamiyah Washington added 11 points and three steals, while Kendall McClure contributed 10 points, five rebounds, and three assists. On the glass, Anisa Blalock recorded a strong defensive effort with 10 rebounds and two blocked shots to lead the Mustangs鈥� interior presence.
As a team, 杏吧传媒 grabbed 33 rebounds and forced 13 turnovers, but struggled to find an offensive rhythm, shooting 22 percent from the field and 22.7 percent from three-point range.
Men's Basketball Season Concludes at Cabrillo College
The Los Medanos Mustangs men's basketball battled to the final minutes but fell 95鈥�87 to Cabrillo College Wednesday night in the opening round of the 3C2A Northern California Regional Playoffs.
Los Medanos came out strong offensively and matched Cabrillo basket for basket throughout the first half. The two teams traded scoring runs, with the Mustangs pushing the pace and attacking the rim. At halftime, the game was deadlocked 46鈥�46, setting up a tightly contested second half.
Cabrillo gained a slight edge after the break, using strong rebounding and free-throw shooting to gradually create separation. The Seahawks controlled the glass with 56 total rebounds, including 22 on the offensive end, which led to second-chance opportunities that proved critical down the stretch.
Despite the deficit, the Mustangs continued to apply pressure and stayed within striking distance for much of the half. Cabrillo, however, converted key possessions late and capitalized at the free-throw line, finishing 24-of-37 from the stripe to hold off the Mustang rally.
With the loss, Los Medanos closes the 2025鈥�26 season with a 14鈥�15 overall record and a 9鈥�7 conference mark, earning a postseason berth after a strong conference campaign.

The postseason opened in style at 杏吧传媒 Gym on Wednesday night, as the Mustangs delivered a commanding 77鈥�58 win over the College of the Siskiyous in the first round of the playoffs.
Los Medanos set the tone early, erupting for 28 points in the first quarter while holding Siskiyous to just 10. The early surge created a separation that the Mustangs never surrendered. After a tighter second quarter, 杏吧传媒 came out of halftime with another statement, pouring in 24 third-quarter points to regain full control and push the lead comfortably into double digits.
Lamiyah Washington led the way with 24 points on an efficient 9-of-14 shooting performance, adding five rebounds, four assists, and four steals in an all-around effort. Eve Monzon followed with 21 points, knocking down three shots from beyond the arc while contributing four assists and four rebounds.
Kendall McClure filled up the stat sheet with 13 points and a game-high seven assists, consistently creating scoring opportunities for teammates. Off the bench, Rayona Jackson provided a major boost in the paint, pulling down 15 rebounds, including five on the offensive glass, to go along with seven points.
As a team, the Mustangs shot 44.6 percent from the field, connected on seven three-pointers, and controlled the boards, including 10 offensive rebounds. Defensively, 杏吧传媒 was active and disruptive, finishing with 20 steals and forcing 20 turnovers to fuel transition opportunities.

Women's Basketball: Playoff Bound
The postseason is headed to Pittsburg.
After closing the regular season on a six-game winning streak, the women鈥檚 basketball team at 杏吧传媒 has earned a spot in the playoffs and the right to host a first-round matchup on Wednesday, February 25. The Mustangs finished second in conference play, surging at exactly the right time and proving that momentum in February is very real.
杏吧传媒 enters the bracket as the No. 15 seed and will welcome the No. 18 seed College of the Siskiyous to town. On paper, it鈥檚 a tight matchup. In reality, it鈥檚 a team playing its best basketball of the season, at home, with confidence running high.
The six-game run to close the year showcased 杏吧传媒鈥檚 growth on both ends of the floor. Defensive intensity tightened. Offensive execution sharpened. Late-game poise became a strength rather than a question mark. What once looked like a promising season has turned into a dangerous one.
Now the focus shifts to Wednesday night. Win and advance. Protect the home floor. Keep the streak alive.
Men's Basketball: Playoff Bound
Postseason basketball is back for the Mustangs.
The men鈥檚 team at 杏吧传媒 has earned a playoff berth and will hit the road Wednesday, February 25, for a 7:00 pm matchup at Cabrillo College. 杏吧传媒 enters the bracket as the No. 21 seed, while Cabrillo comes in at No. 12.
The Mustangs finished fifth in the always-competitive Bay Valley Conference, battling through a demanding schedule that tested them night after night. That experience could prove valuable in a win-or-go-home setting.
While the seeding may suggest an uphill climb, this is a group with the talent and firepower to make noise. When 杏吧传媒 defends with energy, rebounds with purpose, and shares the basketball, they are more than capable of pulling off a road upset.

杏吧传媒 FOOTBALL TOPS COALINGA 41鈥�35 TO CAP HISTORIC SEASON
PITTSBURG, Calif. 鈥� In a finale built for big moments and big plays, Los Medanos closed out its remarkable 2025 campaign with a thrilling 41鈥�35 victory over Coalinga to claim the Golden State Bowl championship. On a day when momentum swung like a pendulum, the Mustangs delivered when it mattered, finishing the season at 10鈥�1 and cementing one of the most memorable years in program history.
Los Medanos opened the afternoon with an avalanche of offense. Quarterback Aidan Crawford came out red-hot, hitting Larenzo Mayfield for touchdowns of 12 and 79 yards before Jordan Barbadillo sprinted in from 26 yards out to give 杏吧传媒 a commanding 21鈥�0 lead.
Coalinga rallied back with a 21-point second quarter, but the Mustangs never blinked. Crawford and Mayfield connected again from 34 yards out to stop the Falcons鈥� surge, and despite a late Coalinga score before halftime, 杏吧传媒 carried a 28鈥�21 lead into the break.
The third quarter tightened but didn鈥檛 break, setting up a dramatic fourth.
Crawford led a marathon 14-play, 75-yard drive capped by a 16-yard touchdown to Darryl Pouncey, pushing the margin to 35鈥�21. Coalinga answered, but the Mustangs had one more firework loaded. Crawford found Mayfield again, this time for 77 yards and their fourth touchdown connection of the day, delivering the decisive strike.
Coalinga scored once more in the final minute, but the Mustangs secured the onside kick and began celebrating a bowl championship that was equal parts heart, resilience, and pure firepower.
Golden State Bowl Award Winners
Defensive Player of the Game: Sean Cervantes, who racked up 17 tackles and was seemingly in on everything.
Offensive Player of the Game: Aidan Crawford, finishing with 293 passing yards and five touchdowns in one of his
finest performances.
Player of the Game: Larenzo Mayfield, who turned the field into his personal launchpad with 211 receiving
yards and four touchdowns.
After the game, 杏吧传媒 Athletic Director Marty Storti reflected on just how meaningful this season and this team have been.
鈥淭his group is special,鈥� Storti said. 鈥淭hey鈥檝e battled through adversity, stayed locked in from day one, and represented this college with pride and purpose. You don鈥檛 get seasons like this by accident. They earned every bit of this championship.鈥�

杏吧传媒 Women's Soccer Uses Strong Second Half to Defeat Las Positas
杏吧传媒 Advances to Round 2 With Strong Second-Half Surge
PITTSBURG 鈥� 杏吧传媒 opened the 3C2A postseason with a composed and confident 2鈥�0 victory over Las Positas on Wednesday night, using a pair of second-half goals to punch its ticket to Round 2 of the playoffs.
After a scoreless first half in which 杏吧传媒 controlled possession but couldn鈥檛 quite find the finishing touch, the Mustangs finally broke through in the 55th minute. A well-built attack ended with the ball pushed across the line by the 杏吧传媒 press, giving the home side a deserved 1鈥�0 lead.
Ten minutes later, the Mustangs doubled the advantage, again capitalizing on sustained pressure in the attacking third. With momentum entirely in their corner, 杏吧传媒 comfortably closed out the match while the defense kept Las Positas without a threatening shot on goal across the full 90 minutes.
With the win, Los Medanos moves on to the next round of the 3C2A playoffs, continuing its push for another deep postseason run.

The 杏吧传媒 Football team capped off a remarkable 2025 season with a 9-1 record, earning the honor of hosting the Golden State Bowl Game at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 杏吧传媒 Stadium, 2700 El Leland Road in Pittsburg.
Behind a high-powered offense and one of the most formidable defenses in the state, the Mustangs stormed through their schedule, turning close games into statement wins and establishing themselves as one of the most successful football teams in 杏吧传媒 history.
