President will convene a working group to draft a process for hiring classified staff. Recently received $300,000 from the Carnegie Foundation for Developmental Ed programs we are one of only nine colleges that received the grant..  . Student Behavior on Campus The Campus Climate Committee held an initial meeting and discussed general student behavior on campus, specific students behavior and the smoking policy. Committee recommends an educational campaign to present issues and review behavioral expectations. Newin Orante will bring draft survey for SGC inputEngineering Program Approval Engineering Program approved by Academic Senate and Curriculum Committee. It was moved/seconded/carried to approve the program. This is the first formal approval of a new program by the SGC. ..Committee Reports Planning Committee no report . Tutoring no report . TAG the new committee structure, modeled as a shared governance committee, has been implemented. The committee will focus on updating the campus tech plan, develop a customer service plan, review wireless standards/issues/opportunities. At their next meeting they will review issues and concerns on the Pay for Print Policy implementation in labs. . Smoking Policy ӰɴýAS will complete a campus wide survey on smoking and report results to SGC. Implementation of a non-smoking policy is supported by the Academic and Classified Senates. Presidents office will formulate an implementation strategy for the Ӱɴý campus to become non-smoking except for parking lots.Prioritize Goals A Synthesis of Unit Plans was distributed and reviewed. Responses to the Opening Day goals exercise was distributed and discussed. There seemed to be some confusion about whether to prioritize goals or choose goals that have been completed.
