鈥溞影纱 Baseball continues to impress with now a fourth consecutive year at the top of the table in the Bay Valley Conference,鈥 杏吧传媒 Athletic Director Marty Storti said. 鈥淎gain, the team has surpassed expectations with the most conference wins we鈥檝e had in at least the past five years.鈥
Storti praised Harmen Sidhu, 杏吧传媒 baseball head coach, whose second year at the helm continued the college鈥檚 winning streak.
鈥淗e has done an outstanding job of leading this team, making sure players are focused as much on their academic as on their athletic achievements,鈥 Storti said. He added that coaches and faculty help athletes focus on academics through a pilot program called the Student-Athlete Academy.
鈥淭hese players have exhausting schedules,鈥 he said. 鈥淭hey are juggling academics and athletics, and many of them work. They put a lot of effort into everything they do. The Student-Athlete Academy is designed to make sure student-athletes get the best educational experience possible. It involves a collection of general education requirements taught by faculty who have a special interest in teaching student-athletes, and the courses are scheduled to align with their practice and game schedules, so they don鈥檛 miss class.鈥
