This is the second annual report in which they ask us to report on course, program and degree level assessment efforts. Nancy and Myra included the TLP ratings on the Slark rubric assessing institutional progress on assessment, and hope that we can encourage our district to look at our progress through this lens as well as counting numbers. Nancy reminded the group that there is still time to register for the second annual Strengthening Student Success Conference in San Jose this October. Folks should let Richard know if they want to attend. Nancy also reminded everyone of the SLO Coordinator Training happening this July in San Diego. It’s a fine opportunity for the next generation of Assessment Coordinators at агАЩДЋУН. Please. Program Review Follow-Up We discussed our next steps in following up on our review of the SLO portion of the program reviews. Nancy and Myra will work on writing feedback letters to departments based on the “grids” that TLP partners filled out, summarizing their observations and suggestions about departments’ assessment plans. They asked Humberto if we could piggy back on the annual update which will go out in the Fall by sending the following out with notice of the annual review: feedback letter models including GE, DE, and Oc.Ed assessment plan template TLP report format for reporting on assessment results- for those who have gotten that far budget/resources request form We noted that all of the above should also be included in the program review handbook. Also, since we have not yet looked at the Student Services’ program reviews in terms of assessment plans, we asked Humberto if we might be able to delay their annual update to the Spring. He said he would bring this request to the planning group. Institutional Assessment Efforts – How to Get a 4.0 We had a general discussion of how we might “seed” departmental efforts to engage in assessment- in other words, carry out program level assessment per their program review plans. We also discussed the direction we are taking with institutional level efforts, e.g. the 11 year plan for GE in which we would be on overlapping 3 year cycles of professional development and assessment. We need to write up the plan for GE Assessment and think about what a parallel plan might look like in occupational education. We also need to look at longer term plans for Student Services and Library and Learning Support. Things to consider: Some kind of institutional level program review that would be staggered with departmental/unit level program review every 3 years. This would be where we would write up what we did, for example, with regard to GE assessment for the last 3 years. How will the TLP budget of approximately 40,000 be used to fund projects at multiple levels. What will be our process and criteria for using these funds?
