A motion was made to add the word knowledge to bullet #2 sentence to state: Assessment instruments are well-aligned with the CSLO and a brief description is given that explains how the instrument provides students an opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and abilities described in the CSLO. Bullet #4 in this revision will be included on the COOR form so assessments include a final exam, paper or project prompt. The Method of Evaluation and Grading revision asks for a clear explanation of the A level achievement of the CSLOs compared to C level achievement of the CSLOs. Good course models will be put on website that reflects the change in assessments. These handbook revisions were approved. (M/S;Von Bergen.Dearman) Unanimous Prerequisite Study Group Nancy gave a brief history for prerequisites of course levels 2LS & 3LS. A previous study for just HUMAN 3 was done. The success rate for ENGL 100 students in HUMAN 3 was 73% and 75% of 73% is about 51%. This committee determined that the sample used was too small to make a valid determination. Additionally the study was not designed initially based on criteria approved by this committee. Therefore a subcommittee was formed to design criteria to be used for another study. The subcommittee met and recommends the following: After looking at other community college interpretations, the group recommends the following definition for highly unlikely to succeed in PHIL 2, ENGL 3, and HUMAN 3: If the success rate for ENGL 90 students is less than 70 % of the success rate for ENGL 100 students in the above courses, then these students are highly unlikely to succeed in those courses.
