Consent Agenda BIOSC 012 Inactivate; MATH 027-Prerequisite. Approved. (M/S;Norris.Gardner) Unanimous Existing Course Outlines HUMAN-022-American Humanities. Approved with correction of typos. (M/S;Norris.Gunder) Unanimous Prerequisites/Co-requisites MATH 026 Add Math 910. Approved for next catalog year. Too late for SU/FA 12 implementation. (M/S;Norris.Gardner) Unanimous. Prerequisite Form Form was approved with following suggestions: Add to sentence on first page courses with CTE top codes to sentence describing validation requirements. Process to trigger departments to submit the form in timely manner will be worked out. CurricUNET may be helpful for date triggers. Adjustments to the check box and signatures on last page. Date footnote and add word page to parenthesis on page 2. (M/S;Norris.Hailey) Unanimous. Disproportionate Impact Nobody from IDEA was able to attend our meeting. Janice did have conversations with some of the members. IDEA has decided to take their concerns to the district. A form was prepared by Paula, Michael and Janice to address how a faculty member would ask for the interdisciplinary prerequisite process to start. Many suggestions were made after going over the form. Paula will work on the form and bring it back to the May 16th meeting. Our goal is help students succeed while at the same time being mindful of student access. Students will succeed with the proper level of entry into a course. Prerequisites will be chosen with consideration of the implications to students and their success. This form will allow for a non-mandatory process with steps to help faculty to know if the prerequisite is right. Credit by Exam Spanish faculty have not gotten back to Janice yet. This will be on our next May 16th agenda. Vision 20/20 Kiran updated the committee on what Vision 20/20 is and what is going on currently. Members inquired about how Curriculum Committee can be involved. One place would be in the college catalog. Updates and changes to make our catalog easier for students. Operationalizing the Vision 20/20 strategic plan is in progress. Accreditation Kiran is now the LAO for Ӱɴý. The October 12 report is being worked on by members of TLP. This should be finalized in May and then vetted through the campus committees. A substantive change to Distance Education Task Force has been assembled. This is to address and write a substantial program change report for Ӱɴý distance education courses. Courses that result in 50 percent or more of the classes completed resulting in a certificate or degree. Example - TRAVEL has 100 percent online courses. FA14 is the next accreditation visit. A steering committee and teams will be assembled this fall. Standing Items CurricUNET Eileen is sending the last course changes to them. There are some new forms to submit and then one-on-one training to start in Summer and Fall 2012. There are some tutorials on the CurricUNET site. A variable flex activity will be planned. It is not mandatory yet to use CurricUNET for curriculum. TLP Laurie Huffman has submitted her name to be TLP chair in FA12. This still needs to go through the approval processes.
