Options to be considered to comply are: Get rid of lab hours completely in some courses Schedule the lab hours Track student/instructor hours A combination of the above may be more realistic. Who keeps track of lab hours will need to be discussed. Currently some areas are keeping records already, such as math. SARS tracking may be an option. Lab hours should be reflected in the CSLOs on COOR. The online supplement should also reflect this information. Online Form The addition of percentage lines under the partially online box was approved. Thank you to Marie Karp who worked very hard on updating this information. Approved. (M/S;Castillo.Ybarra) Unanimous. Competency Requirements Competency for Math, English and Computer Science requirements are inconsistent in the college catalog. These should be updated and made accurate. There is a floor to what is accepted as meeting these requirements that must be satisfied. With that in mind, ideas on how to update these required competencies and update the catalog were discussed. Flex activities that invite faculty to gain information on Math, English and Computer Science proficiency was one idea. To include the competency question in occupational education assessment cycle and to review what is working as a proficiency or not would help address advisory group needs. Professional Development activities used as a vehicle to revise and update competencies for certificates based on assessment process and program review. The Academic Senate should be aware and included in these discussions. SGC State budget report was worse than anticipated. Mid year cuts will probably be coming. We should be thinking about adjustments now rather than last minute. Task force to address the block scheduling issues was formed to discuss implications Articulation No report.
