Group Discussion Challenge Exam - Avenue for the students to show they have met the pre-requisites to get to the next course. Challenge Exam The students have to demonstrate their pre-requisite knowledge, attach their document to the Challenge Exam form and submit it in 5 days to department chair and faculty of the department to review their documentation. Brentwood Math Students take a test created by the Math Department. Brentwood Lab Coordinator grade the test, scoring scale is used if theyve met the pre-requisite knowledge to take the next course. They can only take the test twice if failed. If they pass, Carol Love sends a memo to A&R Susie. This is done throughout the semester. Group Discussion Credit by Exam When students are tested for the course, students receive credits in a different way for a grade (not units) which will count on their GPA and is not sponsored by financial aid. Credit by exam was proposed to Curriculum Committee about a year and a half ago and it now resides in Curriculum Committee website. Laurie reintroduced Credit by Exam forms and opened the floor to revisit the form for any suggestions, changes and comments. Application for Credit by Exam form Eligibility is mixed in with the Instructions and Eligibility #3 should be higher than above course not lower than above course. Changes will be discussed by A&R. Credit by Exam Curriculum Committee Request Form Revisions such as Course Name & Course #, Assessment Instrument/Exams, CSLO#, CSLO Explanation to clarify the titles. Second page: Significant numbers of..esam, should be exam. The new catalog will reflect all the changes, it will be clearer for students and hopefully by then well have it in place, a few departments will be offering Credit by Exam or Challenge.
