Trager and E. Sanchez): E. Sanchez shared the two questions presented to IDEA Committee: 1) where the policy would live? 2) Religious versus Faith terminology. To be consistent across the District language, this would be under Religious as opposed to the discussion of Faith based and to have it in the Student Handbook where faculty/student agreement lives for classroom environment and not necessarily student workers or faculty contract. Discussions and ideas were around: 1) putting this in writing; for students giving prior notification for religious accommodations at the beginning of the year or planned that can be worked with their Instructors 2) possibly to be placed in all faculty syllabuses 3) have the faculty/student agreement in writing for the purpose of a chance of a grade appeal process 4) to provide a uniformed language or statement for faculty to place on their syllabuses 5) from the accommodation document presented: the academics part can be placed in the college catalog and the employment part can be placed in the Board Policy and Business Procedure 6) Be careful of defining what is acceptable and whats arent acceptable 7) notification from students by the census date 8) have a list of religion observance 9) look at what the District does for faculty on the policy 10) take in consideration; logistics and accommodations can be difficult for faculty as well 11) Is this going to be a District-wide policy? 12) Provide a guideline statement for faculty to use for uniformity 13) Incomplete Policy? 14) What about Finals week? Tabled for revisions on Student Religious Observance Policy and consideration on above suggested ideas. 14.Committee Membership Senate Approval: Ethno-Relative Taskforce Jeffrey Matthews LGBTQ Faculty/Staff Caucus Melissa Pon LGBTQ Faculty/Staff Caucus Jeffrey Matthews LGBTQ Faculty/Staff Caucus Elizabeth Green LGBTQ Faculty/Staff Caucus Catherine Wood Motion to approve the above individuals for committee stated memberships Approved (M/S; M.
